Mongkorn Timkul — known throughout the music scene simply as “Dragon” — has been a key figure in Thailand’s drum’n bass scene since the early 2000s. He co-founded Homebass Communications, one of the country’s first drum’n bass collectives, alongside DJ Wen and MC Abu. Together, they introduced Bangkok to drum’n bass music, hosting legendary names like DJ SS, Jon B, L Double, Aphrodite, and Mickey Finn.
Dragon and DJ Wen also created Homebass Radio on Fat Radio 104.5, widely regarded as Thailand’s first electronic music radio show, which regularly featured international and Bangkok-based guest DJs.
In 2008, Dragon launched Dubway Sessions, a long-running event series that explores the broader spectrum of bass and dub music. Over the years, it has featured influential selectors such as Goth-Trad, Pinch, Kode9, and Alpha Steppa. In 2018, Dubway Sessions celebrated its 10th anniversary with Mala (Deep Medi) headlining the event.
In December 2024, Dragon expanded his passion for underground culture by launching Ukemi Records — an online record store specializing in underground electronic music. The shop also shares fresh releases and exclusive vinyl via its website, Official Facebook Page, and Instagram.
Today, Dragon remains a driving force in Bangkok’s underground drum’n bass and bass music scene. Behind the decks, his sets move fluidly from deep, eclectic 120 BPM bass explorations to high-energy, frantic drum’n bass workouts. He’s a regular at Bangkok’s top venues, including Beam, De Commune, and Rover, and has taken his sound to international stages — most notably headlining the Boiler Room at Mahorasop Festival (2022).
With over two decades of dedication, Dragon continues to push Thailand’s bass music culture forward, blending innovation, heavy vibes, and a deep respect for the music’s roots.
